David Namwandi (born February 28, 1954) is a Namibian politician and academic, currently[update] serving as Deputy Minister of Education.

Namwandi was born at Okapya in Ondangwa, Oshana Region, Namibia.
He received an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration in 1993 from the Association of Business Executives. He later was a founder of the Institute of Higher Education (IHE) which was the forerunner of the only fully accredited private university in Namibia, the International University of Management (IUM). Namwandi currently holds various professional and academic qualifications including an MBA and a Doctoral award from Commonwealth University of Malawi. He is currently a PhD candidate with Asia e University (AeU) of Malaysia.
Namwandi currently sits as a board member on a number of different international stock exchange companies as well as educational institutions. These companies include Trustco Group Holdings Ltd, a listed company on Namibian Stock Exchange (NSE) and Africa board of Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) as well as the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA). He also sits on the board of the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE), where he is a current Chairperson of Accreditation and Quality Assurance Committee; and the Vice Chancellors and Rectors Forum (VCRF) where he is a current Vice Chairperson.
He is also a Chairman and Vice Chancellor of The International University of Management (IUM) in Namibia.
Namwandi currently[update] serves as Deputy Minister of Education under a Swapo Party mandate.
